The module PR0062 serves for the evaluation of self-luminescent objects in the visible area of light. Therefore, colour and intensity are analysed separately and in accordance with the user-specific requirements. In contrast to conventional colour sensors, the PR0062 does not require a reference light source but exclusively perceives the light emitted by the test object.
The light tester can be utilised as a mere measurement device over the serial interface, serves as a good/bad detector when used via digital I/Os but can also be operated via both interfaces in parallel. When applied as a means of good/bad detection, the module works with product-specific parameters that have been configured by the user with the software tool, included in the scope of delivery. These parameters are remanently stored on the module and enable the user to configure and selectively test up to 15 entirely different products.
Product number 16 is reserved for the automatic environment light compensation before the actual test. Like this, we can ensure a safe operation even under changing environment conditions.
| Measurement parameters | Colour and intensity |
| Amplification levels | 6 |
| Resolution | 12 bit per amplification level |
| Dynamic | > 90 dB |
Coupling of the light is carried out via light guides, available in different configurations. The standard models allow for the coupling of up to 6 test objects to a single module. The test of up to 6 objects needs to be carried out sequentially.
The utilisation of light guides for the coupling of the test objects to the PR0062 permits the spatial separation of the module itself from the test area. With regard to the small mechanical dimensions of the module, this results in a high flexibility, which often allows for later modifications or up-grading. Apart from a wide range of standard light guides, we also provide light guide configurations that are adapted to the customer’s specific application.
The scope of delivery includes a software tool for the parameterisation as well as a detailed description of the serial interface, explaining all the commands with the help of which the mere sensor values can be recorded and evaluated using one’s own software. This is often necessary in the case of higher exigencies.
