The module VE0006-HG is a system for the evaluation of smallest luminous objects in the visible area of the light. Colour and luminosity are evaluated independently, according to user-specific instructions. Contrary to current colour sensors, the VE006-HG module does not use a reference light source is used but collects the light emitted by the test product. Therefore, the module is especially qualified for the function test of back lights.
The module can either be used as a plain analogue sensor, operated by a serial interface, or as a simple positive / negative identification via digital I/Os. In addition, it is possible to operate the module via both interfaces in parallel. When applied as a positive / negative identification, the module works with product-specific parameters configured by the user via a software tool which is included in our delivery extent. These parameters are remanently stored on the module so that 15 completely different products can be applied and selectively tested.
A 16th product number is reserved for the automatic compensation of the surrounding light before the actual test, enabling the user to run the product even under changing environment conditions.
| Test parameters | Colour and intensity |
| Gain Steps | 6 |
| Resolution | 12 Bit for each gain |
| Dynamic | > 89 dB |
The interconnection of the light is conducted by light conductors with different configurations. Owing to their small outer dimensions, the light conductors can also be utilised for the test of LEDs that are arranged in arrays (RM 3.3 mm). Independently from the cabinet, either mono- or multi-colour types like duo-, full-colour or white LEDs can be tested.
The use of light conductors for the coupling to the test items permits the spatial separation of the device from the test area. In connection with the module’s small mechanical dimensions this leads to a very high flexibility. Additionally, this also leaves room for a later changeover or upgrading of already existing installations.
Our delivery extent includes the software tool for the parameterisation as well as a detailed description of the serial interface. The description gives details about all commands that help to collect and evaluate the pure sensor data with the user’s own software. This is often necessary to comply with higher requirements for the pursuit of products.
The electrical connection is compatible with the MELOT system.
