Our module PR0079 is a system with an internal high power light source for the passive colour identification in the visible area of the light. The product that is supposed to be detected is constantly illuminated by the light source. Then, the light reflected by the product is evaluated. The module can either be used as a plain analogue sensor, which is operated by a serial interface, or as a simple positive / negative identification via a digital I/Os. Furthermore, it is possible to operate the system via both interfaces at the same time. When employed as a positive / negative identification, the device works with specific parameters that the user configures by means of a software tool which is part of our delivery extent. These parameters are remanently stored on the module, so that 16 completely different products can be parameterised and selectively tested.
| test parameters | color and intensity |
| detect frequency | 400 Hz |
| resolution | 14 bit for each gain |
| dynamic | > 100 dB |
The connection of the light is carried out by light guides in different configurations. These different configurations and the illumination enable the user to examine aperture and larger areas for colour congruence. These areas are then evaluated by the module as a sum signal.
The utilisation of light guides for the interconnection to the examined systems permits a spatial separation of the device from the test area. Due to the module’s small mechanical dimensions its utilisation is highly flexible. This fact also permits a later up-grading of already existing installations.
Our delivery extent includes the software tool for the parameterisation as well as a detailed description of the serial interface. The description gives details about all commands that help to collect and evaluate the pure sensor data with the user’s own software. This is often necessary to comply with higher requirements for the pursuit of products.
